We’re halfway through the year now, and the team at Z/Yen is looking ahead with anticipation, and perhaps some trepidation, towards England’s run through the knockouts of the World Cup, with a tough match this evening against the DR Congo. Whilst our own calendar of events may not attract quite the same level of international interest as the World Cup, we would nonetheless like to highlight some of our key fixtures.
Next Wednesday we’ll be hosting the FS Club Summer Mixer — Resilient Capital: Steering Green Finance Through Global Headwinds, in collaboration with the Bank of China; a relaxed way to reconnect with the FS Club community before the summer break in the City Of London. Looking further ahead, save the date for the 2026 Taiwan Financial Briefing Forum — London Edition, sponsored by TABF and TWSE, on Wednesday, 09 September 2026, for all those interested in cutting-edge technology, emerging markets, and global finance.
And while you're between events, take a listen to the latest episode of our AI Standards Stack Podcast, featuring Nicolas Cubaud on Building Trustworthy Computer Vision Systems. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our events soon.

Busan Fast-Tracks Its Strategic Maritime Initiatives Under New Leadership:
Following the municipal election on June 3, Busan has launched a new era of governance. The city administration has established the "Global Maritime Capital" initiative as its primary policy mandate. Moving forward, the city is set to integrate Busan’s existing port infrastructure with advanced maritime administration, specialized shipping services, a robust legal framework, and a dedicated financial ecosystem.
A series of institutional reforms underpins this implementation strategy. The administration is currently reviewing the creation of a specialized Maritime Vice Mayor position to streamline high-level decision-making. Concurrently, Busan is advancing preparations for the Northern Sea Route, strengthening regional maritime public institutions, and working to attract global maritime corporations and business functions.
