Have you ever bought or sold Bitcoin? Ethereum? Any other cryptocurrency? If yes - how many times have you wondered about forces defining the valuation of cryptocurrencies? Since cryptocurrencies are not supported by any centralized repository, their valuation is critically dependent on collective perceptions of their worth – and the subsequent trust in them. Yet, can trust be utilized to understand the changes in the prices of cryptocurrencies? Does the trust of regulators matter more (or less) than the trust of buyers and sellers of cryptocurrencies? Is there such a thing as "general" trust of the market into cryptocurrencies? And, incidentally, what is trust anyway?

Dr Ara Brutian, the co-founder of Liberous Insight-as-a-Service, will deep dive into the role trust plays in forming the valuation of cryptocurrencies - and how trust can be utilized to be more informed and prepared for valuation changes. Liberous' trust model assumes that currency valuation is determined by the decisions made by market players. These decisions, in turn, are determined by the market player’s perceptions of the macroeconomic situation, currency stability, possible regulatory actions, and other contextual elements that together form trust into a given cryptocurrency. Hence, trust can be utilized as an indicator of the direction in which the valuation of a cryptocurrency is moving.
