Shaping The Future Of Finance In Asia: AI-driven FinTech, Digital Currencies, And The Evolution Of Financial Infrastructure

The Z/Yen Group has today published its report, "Finance in Asia: AI-driven, FinTech, Digital Currencies, And The Evolution of Financial Infrastructure", commissioned by Seoul Metropolitan Government.

This research evaluates the state of these technologies in Asia in 2026. The report summarises current trends and developments across major Asian financial centres such as Seoul, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Shenzhen, and others where innovation thrives and AI-centric financial services are becoming the norm.

The outcome of these initiatives is the wholesale transformation of finance and financial services across Asian geographies. The lessons from the trends and developments observed in Asia have worldwide implications for the evolution (and even revolution) of finance in both developed and developing economies.

The research shows how rapidly financial services in Asia are developing. For those of us in the west, there are many lessons to learn and examples of innovation to study. This report should prompt us to review developments in Asia, learn from their successes and take action accordingly.
