No, this isn’t a report on an absinthe-fuelled night out. Instead, Ian Harris spoke to an audience of around 80 people who are so deeply into sustainability they give up their evenings to attend informal talks and discussions on the subject. Informal networking group Green & Tonic met in September 2012 at The Dickens Inn to hear about sustainable fish, or “Mackerel Economics” as they described it. The other speakers were Tamsin Gane, Sustainable Procurement Manger for Sodexo, and Kath Dalmeny, Policy Director of Sustain. Ian talked about The Price of Fish, including several of the fishy examples in the book. Those cool folk from Green & Tonic illustrated the talks live while the speakers were in full flow – photos of the event including glimpses of those seriously cool illustrations can be found here. Ian’s illustration in all its glory will be exhibited at Z/Yen next month. If you really want to know what Ian said, the transcript is available here in Z/Yen Events.
