Where social capitalism hits the road, with Yoni Assia, CEO eToro and Advisor Israel Bitcoin Association
When eToro launched in 2007, no-one saw much of what it was. A twitter for trading is how you might loosely describe it. Three years later, eToro is the world’s largest social investment network and its founder, Yoni Assia, is widely hailed as one of the visionaries of the Finance 2.0 revolution. Now, Yoni is involved in the venture, ColoredCoins. ColoredCoins is a concept designed to be layered on top of Bitcoin, creating a new set of information about coins being exchanged. For example, ColoredCoins can be used to represent physical assets, such as a house or car, or financial instruments such as stocks or bonds, or even interest-bearing assets.
In this fascinating evening, Yoni will share with us the secrets of financial innovation he has learned and where he sees the future of money and banking.
Yoni Assia
CEO eToro and Advisor Israel Bitcoin Association
Yoni Assia has shown an interest in finance and computer science since his youth and so decided to merge his passions. It was this very passion along with the social revolution, which lead to the founding and development of eToro’s investment network, where users connect, share, trade and invest in the world’s financial markets. Yoni's desire to democratise the world of finance and his passion for tech and innovation has led to his involvement in Bitcoin. He currently is an advisor to the Israel Bitcoin Association and has been pioneering the concept of ColoredCoins.
