Unlocking Foresight Know How and Long Finance are hosting a Forum to examine the future of Financial Services.

  • Gill Ringland will revisit the 2011 Report “In Safe Hands? The Future of Financial Services” to see what it got right and what it got wrong;
  • Chris Skinner will give a short talk on his new book, “Valueweb: How fintech firms are using Bitcoin, Blockchain and mobile technologies to create the Internet of Value;”
  • Patricia Lustig will lead a short interactive session exploring potential ways that the Valueweb may play out, based on some of the ideas from Chris’s book.

Background Information on our Speaker:

Gill Ringland, renowned foresight consultant, speaker and author, is Non-Executive Director of Unlocking Foresight Know How. She is CEO of SAMI Consulting and Chairman of Knowledge Insights. Her books on scenario planning are in wide use among academics and practitioners. Her clients for strategic foresight are global and include blue-chip companies, professional associations, government departments and agencies, and not-for-profits.

Chris Skinner, best known as an independent commentator on the financial markets through his blog, the Finanser.com and as author of “Digital Bank” and a range of books about financial markets covering all aspects of innovation and regulation and as Chair of the Financial Services Club. He has been voted one of the most influential people in Banking by The Financial Brand and one of the Top 40 most influential people in financial technology by the Wall Street Journal’s Financial News.

Patricia Lustig, widely recognized practitioner of strategic foresight, strategy development, future thinking and innovation. She is Managing Director of Unlocking Foresight Know How and the CEO of LASA Development UK Ltd. She is the author of a number of respected books and journal articles; her recent book “Strategic Foresight: Learning from the future (Triarchy Press, 2015) is a practical guide to strategic foresight and foresight tools for business leaders. She has worked with multi-nationals and SMEs advising on strategic foresight and implementation of organisational change.
