Bridging The Gaps: Between Investment & Global Resources Trends
Workshop

This workshop seeks critical feedback from the investment community for the work of the recently founded CLARITY Coalition by Modus Vivendi and Z/Yen Group.
Governments, global and regional institutions, global business organisations and nongovernmental organisations all now work to the assumption that global population will grow from 7 to some 9 billion by 2050. They also assume increasing global affluence. Just the consumption anticipated in China and other rapidly growing economies is dramatically changing resource supply and demand and global investment priorities forever. External pressures on investment strategies may include targets for unburnable carbon, resource access and depletion, technology break-throughs, taxation strategies etc. Financiers and resource experts have been working on solutions from opposite ends of the track.
The CLARITY Coalition aims to proactively bridge the gap between current approaches to identifying resource and human well-being needs and what current investors require to invest in those needs. The workshop focus is to explore what ‘bridging the gap’ could mean in practice, including with reference to efficient coalition building and management and CLARITY proposals for investment framework, strategy and tool innovations for today’s markets which are directed towards financial and resource sustainability.
