Hugh has over 35 years business experience and has deep expertise in financial services.  He specializes in leading technology and business services companies, delivering profitable entrepreneurial growth.  He was a Global Managing Partner at Accenture where he led the technology and outsourcing practices in the UK, led the public sector practice in Scandinavia, UK, Ireland and South Africa and, subsequently, the global Transition and Transformation practice for the outsourcing business of the firm.  Then he was an Executive Director at Xchanging plc where he led the HR outsourcing business and then integrated the company’s global IT and operations infrastructure.  He then started his own business, Laureate Legal Services, aimed at delivering BPO services to leading UK law firms.  He worked at Genpact leading business development in EMEA for financial services and then as Sales and Marketing Director for TORI Global, a financial-service focused consultancy.


Alex is a senior financial services professional with line management and consulting experience working in capital markets, exchanges and asset management and asset servicing sectors.

He brings strong analytical expertise in creating business and operating strategies, achieving successful implementation and experience working with senior management to shape, plan and deliver strategic change.  He has wide ranging multi-cultural experience in leading global teams and working overseas.

He started his career at Andersen Consulting/Accenture progressing to Partner working on bank integration shared services, exchanges and post-trade. 

In 2004 he joined HSBC as COO for HSBC Securities Services where he managed operations, led strategy reviews, post-merger integration, operational transformation and technology rationalisation across the business globally, including setting up an offshore Centre of Excellence.

Over the last 3 years, Alex has been a Partner at Ernst & Young (EY) providing Advisory services to exchanges, CCPs, CSDs, securities services and asset managers helping them with regulatory change, strategy development and cost saving. 

Most recently Alex has been advising a blockchain company with the application of blockchain to financial services and has supported a stock exchange client on post-trade use of the blockchain.

Paul is a senior computing and telecoms professional with extensive financial services experience and specialisations in payments and related services.  He has expertise in creating businesses and developing new growth strategies, with a track record of their successful implementation, and he also has wide experience in working to shape, plan and deliver transformational change.

He started his career at IBM in the City, developing new services for share dealing, and, after experience in precision engineering and manufacturing, worked at BT where he ran a series of major business units, most recently as Managing Director, BT Payments Solutions.  He likes to work across disciplines, combining commercial, operational and functional analysis and strategic insights, all underpinned by extensive technical experience, having originally read Physics at Merton College, Oxford.

His more recent payments work involved him developing and executing an agile payments strategy to produce incremental revenues from the global payments market.  He developed a new Cloud Contact Centre PCI-compliant payments service and ran pilot services in Biometrics, Smart Ticketing for Transport and Future Cities, and integrated Broadband-POS terminals, as well as working on NFC roll-out and Mobile Payments.  Most recently, Paul has been working on the use of Blockchain technologies, particularly for Mutual Distributed Ledger applications for customer verification and for secure document handling, verification and tracking, all with a view to taking Z/Yen’s ChainZy systems into payments and other markets in the City.

Paul is a Freeman of the City of London and of the World Traders and a Churchwarden at St James, Garlickhythe.
