Speakers:

Michael O’Sullivan is an author, economist and investor. He has twenty years’ experience in global financial markets, most recently as Chief Investment Officer in the International Wealth Management Division of Credit Suisse, where he worked for twelve years. He now advises a number of asset management and fintech companies (notably Moonfare and Alpian). He co-founded a digital wealth manager in the UK (Rosecut) and is a director of Unio Wealth Management in Ireland.

He is also a senior adviser at WestExec, and a trustee of the Jane Goodall Legacy Foundation.

He is the author of "The Levelling" (PublicAffairs), which outlines what’s next in politics, economics, finance and geopolitics in the post globalization era. Recently he has co-authored 'L'Accord du Peuple' (Calmann-Levy) and made the BBC 4 radio documentary Waking up to World Debt and numerous podcasts on this topic.

He was a member of the World Economic Forum's Council on the New Economy, and a Forbes contributor, and a speaker at the 2020 TED Talk conference and also at the Stormont TEDx on the topic of restoring democracy.

He studied in Cork and received MPhil and DPhil degrees at Balliol College, Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He has taught finance and economics at Oxford University and Princeton University.

Dr Rebecca Harding is CEO of the Centre for Economic Security and an independent trade economist, author, public speaker. She is a specialist in digital and sustainable trade and supply chain finance, geoeconomics and geopolitics. Her affiliations include roles as Chief Economic Adviser to the Defence Security and Resilience Bank, an Associate at Earendel Associates, a Senior Fellow at the British Foreign Policy Group and an Associate Partner in the T3i Partner network. She is a member of the Alphen Group.

Her strategic advisory business, Rebeccanomics, provides services in international trade including work on sustainable trade finance for the ITFA and the Sustainable Trade Forum. In 2022 she was awarded the “Net Zero Entrepreneur of the Year” at the annual Scale Up Group’s Enterprise Awards.

She has built three data-based technology businesses. She has held senior positions as Head of Corporate Research at Deloitte, Senior Fellow at London Business School, and Chief Economist roles at the Work Foundation and at UK Finance. She acted as Specialist Adviser to the Treasury Select Committee and advised the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Entrepreneurship. Between 2004 and 2018 she was a Director and Trustee of the German-British Forum.

Paul Killworth was appointed as the UK’s Deputy Chief Scientific Adviser for National Security in mid-2021, following a range of leadership and operational roles in GCHQ and other parts of government. In his current role, he is responsible for giving independent scientific advice on national security issues and working with the wider network of scientific advisers to address cross departmental issues. He holds a doctorate in the social anthropology of the military, and writes on themes surrounding technology, privacy and security. Paul was appointed as the National Security Innovation Champion at the end of 2021 by the National Security Adviser, to help the national security community deliver the commitments in the UK’s Integrated Review.
