Angels in the City aims to increase the awareness of individuals to become Investors and to bring their financial capacity and business experience to invest in innovative, entrepreneurs with high growth potential in the City fringes, including the exciting Tech City cluster. The City of London Corporation has been the core supporter of the Angels in the City initiative since its launch in October 2011 which is being delivered by London Business Angels, being one of the oldest and most established angel groups in the U.K, bringing over 30 years of investing experience and capacity building of angel investors. Since April 2013, Lloyds TSB Commercialis also now supporting this work.
Jonathan Harrison is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (FInstD) with experience in quoted and unquoted companies. Previously he spent 16 years at Intercontinental Hotels Corporation, USA, (now UK based IHG plc.) where he held various executive financial roles covering Europe, Middle East and Africa. He also managed the financial integration of Grand Metropolitan Intercontinental Hotels.
He has acquired and sold companies, completed an MBI and successful exit, listed two companies on AIM and one on Plus. He is currently, NED of Canadian mineral exploration company, Fundy Minerals Limited, a start-up USA social penny arcade company, Affinity Arcade Corporation.
Jenny Tooth is co-founder and Director of Angel Capital Group and is currently CEO of UK Business Angels Association. Jenny has 20 years experience supporting business growth and access to finance both in the UK and Europe advising on finance and innovation. Jenny has had extensive experience in the world of angel investing and was involved with London Business Angels from 2000 to 2012.
Anthony Clarke is the co-founder and CEO of Angel Capital Group which includes London Business Angels where he has the role of Managing Director. He has been a business angel investor/non-executive director of over 30 start-up/early stage businesses since 1995. He was Chairman of the UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA) from 2004 - July 2012 and remains on its Board.
