Rosemarie Ghazaros is co-founder and Managing Director of The Business Development Practice, launched early in 2005, which specialises in business development consulting, coaching and training in the professional services sector. She has been a pioneer in marketing and business development in professional services and partnerships for many years. She started her career in British Steel, then joined Black & Decker UK. In both businesses, she maintained an emphasis on the development of new markets, new products, and joint marketing ventures, and an involvement in the markets of mainland Europe. After a spell in management consultancy for Deloitte, where she focused mainly on B2B markets, she switched gears to help set up the firm's new UK marketing department, becoming Director of Marketing. Here she established many new initiatives including sector focus and marketing, an early CRM system, specialist bid support and key account management. Prior to establishing The Business Development Practice she has worked with major law, accountancy, property and consulting firms. Her specialist areas of work include marketing and business development consulting, relationship marketing and client satisfaction, targeting and new business generation, coaching and training. She enjoys working with partners and directors in implementing change, and motivating leaders and teams to tackle new initiatives. She has received trained in coaching skills by the Tavistock Institute. One of Rosemarie’s principal assignments has been a secondment as Marketing Director to lead and reorganize the global marketing function at Linklaters during a period of unprecedented change and international merger/integration activity. During this period she established the firm’s key account management programme and initiated the global rebranding of the firm. Rosemarie has also been involved in change programmes in the public sector, particularly in health (in the NHS and the King’s Fund). She was a non-executive director on the Board of one of the largest UK London Acute Trusts for seven years. Rosemarie graduated from University College London in Economics and International Relations. She is a member of the Marketing Society and a regular speaker and writer on business development in the professions.
